Built in the early 19th century, Brackenlea has undergone total refurbishment to provide luxurious accommodation whilst retaining its traditional Northumbrian character.

The area around Harbottle is perfect for outdoor activities. We have fishing, horse riding, and mountain biking and walking in the Cheviot Hills, a Nature Reserve on our doorstep and a warm and welcoming pub nearby to relax in.

For those looking to chill out there is no better place in England, a place where mobile phones won't ring and you can walk, fish or ride all day in beautiful surroundings and not see a soul. There is an illustrated description of a walk from the cottage here.

Please explore our web site and hopefully you will get an idea of what you can enjoy in the cottage and the whole Northumbrian experience.
