Viking Raiders at Holy Island
Viking raiders return to Lindisfarne Priory on Holy Island in a re-enactment of times past (I do hope they've checked the tide tables, it will look bad if they get stuck on the causeway).
Sat 20 & Sun 21 Aug, 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Lindisfarne Priory.
Meet the terrifying Vikings as they spread a wave of terror and turmoil with their raids on the North eastern coast of England, where Lindisfarne was first to be set upon on 793 AD. Explore their encampment to discover the reigours and entertainments of Viking campaigning. Watch grisly displays of combat culminating in a full-scale, deadly battle. Be sure to check the tide times when planning your visit.
