A charming three star 2-bedroom traditional Northumberland cottage located in the pretty village of Harbottle in the Northumberland National Park, close to Rothbury, Alnwick and the Northumberland Coast.

We are ideally placed for the attractions of Alnwick Castle & Alnwick Garden, Cragside, Kielder Water and Hadrians Wall, as well as the stunning Northumberland Coast, Lindisfarne and the Scottish Borders. A little further afield there is easy access to Newcastle and the huge Metrocentre indoor shopping centre, National Trust properties, The Beamish Tourist Experience, and Edinburgh is less than two hours drive away.

The Northumberland towns of Alnwick, Morpeth, Rothbury, Otterburn, Bellingham, Belford, Wooler, Seahouses, Craster, Beadnell and Berwick are all within easy distance of Brackenlea.

The area around Harbottle is perfect for outdoor activities. We have fishing, horse riding, and mountain biking and walking in the Cheviot Hills, a Nature Reserve on our doorstep and a warm and welcoming pub nearby to relax in.

Built in the early 19^th century, Brackenlea was the bottling plant for the brewery which was an integral part of the Star Inn, whose yard the cottage backs on to. The cottage has undergone total refurbishment to provide luxurious accommodation whilst retaining its traditional Northumbrian character.

For those looking to chill out there is no better place in England, a place where mobile phones won't ring and you can walk, fish or ride all day in beautiful surroundings and not see a soul. There is an illustrated description of a walk from the cottage here.
