A lively festival of Northumbrian Language, Music, Song, Crafts and Dance. Events are free and start from Friday evening and run through to Sunday in pubs and halls throughout the town. (45 mins)

Rothbury Traditional Music Festival is a friendly gathering in the heart of the beautiful Coquet Valley. It brings musicians from the length and breadth of the country and beyond to join with enthusiastic local musicians, singers and dancers to create a celebration of traditional music. (15 mins)

Classical Music Brinkburn Priory


Brinkburn Priory Classical Music Festival 2 weekends in July, 4th-6th and 11th-13th

Sublime music ranging from early to contemporary classical in the beautiful setting of a fully restored 12th century priory, Brinkburn Priory, near Rothbury. (25 mins).

Agricultural Shows

Hilarity at the Terrier Racing at Alwinton


Mon 26 May - Northumberland County Show; Corbridge

The regions biggest single rural attraction and entertainment event with agriculture remaining firmly at its heart. Corbridge is Roman all country. Entry £8. (1 hr)

Our local show, small and friendly.

Sat 11th October - Alwinton Border Shepherds Show

The last show of the season and one of the local highlights of the year. 30 Mins walk from the cottage.
